HOW DOES DERMAPEN® WORK?

The purpose of microneedling is to encourage your skin to make more collagen. Dermapen® is a medical grade device that introduces a series of very fine needles into the skin, creating many microscopic channels. A pen-like tool is used to deliver very tiny pricks to the skin. As these tiny injuries heal, they stimulate collagen and build up connective tissue while keeping the epidermal layer in tact. The result is healthier, smoother and tighter skin with a more even tone and texture. Most people will need multiple sessions to attain desired results.

BBL is the trademark name for Sciton’s IPL treatment. BBL stands for BroadBand Light, IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light. Both refer to a high energy light source with a broad range of wavelengths that can be used to treat multiple skin conditions.

  • HOW MUCH DOES DERMAPEN COST?

    Dermapen treatment costs $300 per session. Most patients will need 3 to 4 sessions over several weeks.*

  • DOES MICRO-NEEDLING HURT?

    Everyone’s threshold for pain is a little different. You may experience some mild discomfort when the Dermapen device is in action. Dr. Theocharides will apply a topical numbing cream to help minimize any pain. After the treatment, the area may feel slightly sore for one or two days.

  • IS DERMAPEN SAFE?

    Yes, Dermapen is a safe procedure that uses a disposable tip with sterile, stainless steel needles. Dr. Theocharides will use a new, individually wrapped tip with each new patient.

  • HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

    One of the biggest advantages of skin needling is that the results are extremely long-lasting, especially when compared to alternative treatments like dermal fillers or chemical peels. Dermapen doesn’t stop the aging process, but following a proper skincare routine after skin needling can ensure your results last for several years.*
