HOW DOES THE CO2 LASER WORK?

The CO2 laser is gold standard in laser skin rejuvenation. Dr. Theocharides uses fractional technology which targets specific problem areas, leaving the surrounding skin untreated for accelerated healing. A single treatment delivers noticeable results that can last for several years.* Dr. Theocharides will use a special handpiece to deliver the laser energy to the skin. The pulsed laser energy creates microscopic channels in the skin to stimulate a healing response and achieve the desired results.

PROCEDURE DETAILS

Treatment time with the C02 laser can vary depending on the case anything from 1-2hrs. No anesthesia is required, however numbing cream and some local will be used prior to the laser treatment. Once your treatment is completed, you will leave with minimal pain and swelling. It is normal to experience a sensation that is similar to sunburn. This will subside in a few hours.
While there is no “downtime”, Dr. T says most patients will take 4 – 8 days of “no social time”. During this time, you will experience dead skin that will gently peel away. This is completely normal and should be expected during this natural exfoliation process. How long the effects of your treatment will last is dependent on your age, health, and commitment to your skin care. The more you take care of your skin, the longer your results will last.*

    Everyone's threshold for pain varies, but the CO2 laser skin resurfacing is generally considred "painless" or moderately uncomfortable. Patients often describe the sensation of the laser as feeling like a series of rubber band snaps. If you are concerned about pain, discuss this with Dr. T at your consultation.

  • HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?

    Many patients notice an immediate improvement in the tone, texture and firmness of their skin. The full effect of treatment usually takes about 2 to 3 months.*
