WHAT CAUSES SPIDER VEINS

Spider veins (telangiectasias) are caused by structural abnormalities of blood vessels. They are typically seen in middle aged women and men. The cause of spider veins is not clear. Researchers believe the causes may be genetics, environmental, or a combination of both. They are often seen or made worse by sun exposure, excess pressure, or hormonal changes. Other causes that may cause spider veins include:

ABOUT SCLEROTHERAPY

THERMISMOOTH® BODY: WHAT TO EXPECT

ThermiSmooth® Body targets the area under the skin and is used to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. ThermiSmooth® Body will also tighten and firm loose, sagging skin. ThermiSmooth® Body is performed using a handheld device that is applied directly to the skin’s surface. It is gently moved in a sweeping or circular fashion while gradually heating up the skin surface. This electrode uses controlled radiofrequency energy that targets areas under the skin to reduce the visibility of cellulite. As the targeted skin with the cellulite rises in temperature, the radiofrequency energy adjusts for precision heating. The targeted skin area is treated for about 5 to 7 minutes to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Our patients will undergo a series of these treatments over a 6 to 8 week period.* The number of treatments you receive will be determined based upon your personal cosmetic goals and body type.

ThermiSmooth® Body is a gentle heat-based therapy that requires no anesthesia. Most patients say that treatment feels like a gentle warm massage. ThermiSmooth® Body is a non-invasive procedure so it requires little to no downtime and patients can return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. The full results won’t become apparent for at least three to six months.
