SCROTOX®

ABOUT SCROTOX®

Scrotox (scotal relation with Botox®) has been popularized for some male patients who prefer to have lower hanging testicles with a more relaxed scrotum, mostly for costmetic reasons.

WHAT IS SCROTOX?

Scrotox is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure of the scrotum using Botox or other wrinkle-relaxing injections. This treatment can help to temporarily smoothen the wrinkles on your scrota, relax the muscles in your scrotum, and allow your balls to hang a little lower. All of these contributes to an overall improved aesthetic appearance.

THE BENEFITS OF SCROTOX

Most male patients (for men) get Scrotox for cosmetic reasons - to have the scrotum and testicles appear larger by hanging lower. This may increase confidence and enhance performance or sexual satisfaction.

Others request this because they have pain - from an overactive scrotum. This could happen during relations or spontaneously. Some will find a benefit with less sweating in this area as well.

SCROTOX FAQS

  • HOW IS IT DONE?

After the scrotal skin is cleaned and anesthetized with local anesthetic cream, tiny almost painless injections are placed. The procedure is quick and there is no recovery required except to avoid strenuous activity for the day of the procedure.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Like with most BOTOX® treatments in other areas, this usually lasts 3-4 months for most men.

  • WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS OF SCROTOX?

If you are taking blood thinners like aspirin or coumadin, you have a greater chance of a bruise. Any active infection in this area would be a reason to postpone your treatment. If you had an injury or a scar in the area, your results may be less effective.

Although no long-term studies are available, there are no known long term consequences and the use of BOTOX® in this area is used off label - meaning it is not FDA approved for the scrotum. *If you are actively trying to have children, many advise to postpone this treatment.
