Dermal fillers are a great option for men because it helps diminish lines and restores fullness in the face. Injecting soft filler tissue allows skin to appear smoother and enhances the contours of the face. Professional dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a natural, moldable gel base best that can be used to enhance the appearance of cheeks, lips, and jawlines. Hyaluronic acid can also be used to fill in fine lines and wrinkles.
Treatment With Dermal Fillers
At Beginning’s Aesthetics and Wellness, there are multiple brands of dermal fillers that we offer to patients, including:
Juvéderm® is a type of dermal filler that smooths away fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. It is typically used to restore volume in our cheeks causing them to “lift” and smooth lines around the mouth and nose. Juvéderm® fillers are natural fillers because they are made of mostly hyaluronic acide. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is found naturally in the body and works by delivering nutrients to our skin and this helps retain moisture and softness and adds volume. The Juvéderm® formula is non animal-based and has very low risk of allergic reaction or rejection.
Restylane® is one of the leading hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers. This family of facial fillers includes treatments that smooth away wrinkles around the nose and mouth and enhance the size and shape of lips. Restylane® is primarily used to restore volume and smooth away wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Restylane® is also the first and only dermal filler FDA-approved for lip enhancement in patients over age 21. Dr. T can use this treatment to restore fullness and symmetry to your lips.
Sculptra Aesthetic® involves a series of three injection sessions over a few months. Sculptra Aesthetic® is made from a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is safely absorbed by the body and is actually used in dissolvable stitches. The microparticles of PLLA work deep within the skin to replace lost collagen and reinforce its structure over time.

Treatment with dermal fillers may not be as effective if you have severe scarring, thinner skin, or looser skin. For the best results, it is recommended to avoid medications that cause your blood to thin. Even aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) should be avoided about a week before treatment to reduce bleeding and bruising at injection site.
