What Is Thermitight?
An alternative to Liposuction and other surgical options, ThermiTight™, is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure performed by Dr. Theocharides in one of our Central NJ locations.
How Does Thermitight Work?
After administering a local anesthetic, Dr. Theocharides will use a tiny probe to gently heat a specific area of tissue. Dr. Theocharides will use a specific therapeutic temperature that will depend on the area of the body being treated and the patient. The tiny probe provides a constant temperature reading during the application. Typically, a ThermiTight™ procedure is complete in about an hour, and you will be able to return to your normal activities within the following 24-48 hours.
What Area Of The Body Does Thermitight Work On?
Dr. Theocharides uses ThermiTight™ to tighten skin on virtually any area of the body including:
- Chin, neck, and jowls
- Abdomen, back, and waist
- Thighs and buttocks
- Knees, calves, and ankles
Thermitight vs. Liposuction
· Improved Precision
o Thermitight works through carefully controlled temperature. This allows Dr. Theocharides to more precisely target the area of fat and skin, and have much more control over more areas. It also significantly reduces the chances of injury.
· Less Healing Time
o This procedure leaves no noticeable scars and is not generally considered painful; it only requires a local anesthetic, and side effects are mild and rare. It also does not require much time to heal, as opposed to liposuction, which is a major surgical procedure that carries the potential for infections and a lot of downtime post-surgery.
· Less Intrusive
o Rather than penetrating the body with a large and invasive tool and removing fat or tissue, Thermitight uses energy via a small tool under the skin—with only local anesthesia, to shrink fat cells and tighten skin. The areas commonly targeted with this technique are the same as those for which patients choose liposuction.
Is Thermitight The Correct Solution For Me?
Dr. Theocharides will perform the ThermiTight™ application on patients who are in good health and recommends not being on any blood thinners. Even though this is a minimally invasive procedure, it does involve a small incision under the skin to insert the probe.
